I am all about being open and transparent about the experience you’ll have with me as your photographer. I want everything to be clear and for you to know just what to expect from our time together. If you have any questions that aren’t answered, do get in touch!

FAQ

Most clients opt to have their sessions at home – this is where you and your kids will feel most comfortable. We can shoot inside and outside around your home and neighbourhood. You can also choose to have your session outdoors at one of my fav spots or another spot that is meaningful to you. Anything goes here, we can do something really unique!

Kids are chaotic, and messy and real by nature. In this season of life, I would be really surprised if your children did behave! I include a section in my Welcome Guide (you’ll get this as soon as you’ve booked!) about preparing your kids for the session and getting them excited – the truth is, this session is not about perfection, it’s about finding happiness and joy even in the less than perfect moments. I’m not worried about your kids behaviour, and I promise you won’t need to worry either.

You can expect to receive an email from me containing the link to your private online gallery within 2 weeks following your session. I retouch and include all the best images from your session.

Believe me when I say you’re not the only one who feels this way. Being in front of the camera can be intimidating, but know that I have been doing this for so long, I really know the best light and angles to use to make everyone look amazing, and I’ll send you a guide to help you pick the right outfit. If you have any specific concerns, just let me know. I want you to love these photos too.

Newborn sessions are typically done in the first 3 weeks of life, however natural lifestyle photos can be taken at any age.  The newer the babies, the more sleepy they will be which helps the session run smoothly. If you’ve missed this stage, or just aren’t up for it, you can still schedule a newborn session with me.

Your session is about YOU, so you should wear what you are comfortable in. Seriously. Skip the fancy schmancy dress clothes and wear clothes you can PLAY in!

Of course, having your portraits done IS a special occasion, and I know a lot of people would prefer to put together special outfits. SO, once your session is booked, expect info about prepping for your session including ideas about what to wear.

Expect me to arrive with only my camera in hand. Usually, I’ll take a quick look around your home and start coming up with ideas of where I want to shoot, or if our session is outdoors, I arrive a few minutes before you and scout the location. I will also take some time to chat with your little ones so that they can learn to trust me and my camera.

Family sessions are fun, candid, and sometimes crazy! Kids get to be KIDS. While I do give a little guidance, I don’t direct the whole shoot. I allow the little ones to lead and I follow. There are very few meltdowns and usually a lot of happy little faces!

Maternity sessions generally take place anytime between 28-36 weeks, or once you are showing quite obviously! Sessions can take place right up to your due date, so if you are close, get in touch right away!

I started my business back in 2009, so you can rest assured you’re in good hands when you hire me to photograph your family!

Once you are ready to book, I’ll send you the session booking form. You fill it out online and pay the retainer. It shouldn’t take more than a few minutes. Once that’s done – you’re booked!

I only offer a limited number of sessions each month because I love to be able to offer flexibility in my scheduling. If you’re sick, or your little ones are sick, rescheduling is not a problem, and it is preferable.

I don’t alter the way you look other than non-permanent things like blemishes, bruises, scrapes or anything else that will clear up. I want you and your family to recognize you in these photos.

If you’re feeling self conscious about anything, please let me know and I will be extra cautious of it while I photograph you.
