What To Wear

MOTHERHOOD SESSIONS

Simple. Soulful. Soft.

These sessions are all about connection over perfection — the tender way your child fits into your arms, the quiet nose nuzzles, the way your hand instinctively finds theirs. Clothing should never compete with that magic. Instead, it should gently fall away into the background, letting your love take center stage.

THE VISION

These sessions will be minimal and intimate, photographed with softness and simplicity in mind. Think of it as your permission slip to let go — of stiff poses, coordinated patterns, and the pressure to be polished. We’re capturing the kind of love that’s timeless.

For Mamas:

– Sleeveless tops or flowy tanks to show soft skin and invite closeness
– Knits, sweaters that fall off the shoulder, cotton camisoles, soft textures in neutrals, whites, creams, oatmeal, greys
Jeans, linen pants, soft skirts — whatever feels comfortable and real
– Avoid bold colours, prints, or logos — simplicity is the goal
Skip the socks and shoes — unless you’ve got socks that feel like part of the outfit. Bare feet photograph softly and add to the relaxed, intimate feel, but if you do wear socks, make sure they’re a conscious choice (neutral and cozy).
– A bare shoulder or back? Beautiful.
– Hair natural or gently tousled — we want you, not a version of you

For Little Ones:

– A simple diaper or soft bloomers for babies
– Knit onesies, linen rompers, soft cotton
– No shoes needed, remove socks too
– Shirts optional for the younger ones — skin-to-skin moments are gold
– Muted, neutral tones that photograph gently and don’t steal focus
– Hair messy, toes wiggly, nothing forced

For Bigger Kids:

Big kids bring a quieter kind of magic — a calm confidence, a spark of independence, and that tender in-between space of growing up while still needing you close.

For them, we want comfort and ease. Clothing that lets them move freely and be themselves.

– Neutral, solid-coloured tees, tanks, or knits — think cream, grey, soft white, muted earth tones
– Comfy, neutral-toned sweats, joggers, hoodies, or oversized knits
– Jeans, linen pants, or soft joggers in gentle tones
– Bare feet or socks — no need for shoes
No logos or graphic prints, which can distract from those beautiful expressions
– If they love a hat or a cozy sweater — bring it! It’s all about their personality, just in a simplified palette

A Note on Accessories:

Leave the costume jewelry, bows, and extras at home. We want this to feel like your favourite slow morning at home, not a styled shoot.

Why This Matters

When you strip away the extras, something powerful is left behind: real, radiant love.

We’re creating images that feel like an embrace — soft, quiet, full of soul.

You don’t have to perform. You just have to show up as yourself, wrapped around the ones who made you a mama.
